視力改善を示したnt11778遺伝子変異をもつレーベル視神経症の2家系

Visual recovery in two cases of Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy with nt11778 mutation

　ミトコンドリアDNAのnt11778変異をもつレーベル視神経症患者16家系中3家系に視力回復患者を認め，2家系2症例に異なる視力回復過程を観察した。症例1は11歳時に急性発症し，発症から2年後より右眼視力は0.05から回復傾向を示し，10年後には0.4〜0.5になった。左眼は0.01のままであった。この視力の自然回復過程はレーベル視神経症にみられる典型的な経過であった。症例2は10歳時に亜急性に発症し，発症より約半年後にミトコンドリアの呼吸活性賦活剤であるイデベノンを経口投与した。右眼視力は0.08であったが，1か月後から回復傾向がみられ，4か月後には1.2になり，左眼視力は2か月後から回復し，8か月後に0.1から1.2に改善した。

We observed visual improvement in two cases of Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy carrying homo-plasmic nt11778 mutations in the ND4 gene. The first case, a 11-year-old boy, showed gradual spon-taneous improvement in visual acuity in the right eye from 0.05 to 0.5, 10 years later. The left visualacuity remained at 0.01 throughout. The second patient showed visual improvement in the right eye from 0.08 to 1.0,4 months after administration of idebenone. The left visual acuity improved from 0.1 to 1.0, 8 months later.
