Abstract Purpose:To report refractive errors after cataract surgery with implantation of intraocular lens(IOL)using Hill-RBF and other formulas.

Cases and Method:This study was made on 150 eyes of 87 patients who received cataract surgery during from Oct. 2018 to July 2019. Actual refraction was measured one month after surgery and was compared with the predicted value after Hill-RBF, SRK/T and Barrett Universal Ⅱ(BUⅡ).

Results:Refractive error after surgery averaged(absolute averaged)0.17±0.38(0.34±0.25)D for Hill-RBF, −0.02±0.39(0.31±0.23)D for SRK/T, 0.20±0.38(0.35±0.25)D for BUⅡ. The differences were significant among the 3 groups in averaged refractive error, but no differences in absolute averaged refractive error(means:p<0.001, ANOVA, absolute:p=0.301, Kruskal-Wallis test). Frequency of refractive error within±0.50D and±1.00D was not significantly different among the 3 groups(p=0.928, p=0.993, Chi-squared test)

Conclusion:Hill-RBF formula is a useful formula with less postoperative refraction error in IOL calculation formula. Since the current formula has a limit on the refractive setting range, further improvement is required.
