Abstract Purpose:To report refractive errors after cataract surgery using three formulas by considering corneal refraction(K).

Cases and Method:This study was involved 329 eyes of 190 patients who underwent cataract surgery from October 2018 to February 2020. The eyes were classified into 9 groups based on the boundaries of 22-26 mm for Axial length(AL)and 42-46D for K. Prospective refraction in same intraocular lens(IOL)power was calculated by SRK/T(S), Barrett Universal Ⅱ(B)and Haigis(H)formula. Nine groups were evaluated regarding subjective refraction at 1 month after surgery.

Results:There were significant differences between the means of refractive error(A)and absolute refractive error(AA)at 1 month after surgery for the S and H formulas(AL:22-26 mm, K:46D over), A and AA for the and H formula(AL:22-26 mm, K:42-46D), A for the formula(AL:22-26 mm, K:42D less), A and AA for the B and H formulas(AL:26 mm over, K:46D over)(A:ANOVA, AA:Kruskal-Wallis test). There was also a significant difference in the frequency of coming within±0.5D with the S and H formulas(AL:22-26 mm, K:42-46D), B and H formulas(AL:26 mm over, K:46D over)(Cochran's Q test).

Conclusion:It is necessary to select the most appropriate formula with consideration of both factors, or to optimize the IOL constant in each group.
