水晶体後部線維増殖症に就て

On retrolental fibroplasia

I．緒言

　水晶体の後部に黄白色組織形成を示す疾患は従来先天異常として散発的に報告されている。かかる疾患に対しTerry^1）氏（1942）はretrolentalfibroplasiaなる名称を提唱し，水晶体血管膜を含む硝子体動脈系の遺残・過形成によるものと報告した。

　その後本症の発生が特に未熟児に対する哺育養護（酸素療法）が広く行われている米国に於て急激に増加の傾向を示し，乳幼児失明の主要な原因として注目されるに至つた。

The authors reported three cases of retrolental fibroplasia which is attracting attention as one of the causes of blindness in children.

Case 1 : 5 years aged male. Gestational age was 9 months and birth weight was about 2.8kg. The right eye showed a yellowish white reflex from the pupil and was enucleated under the diagnosis of glioma retinae. But the pathological microscopic examination showed that it was retrolental fibroplasia in a cicatricial phase. That is ; the retina was totally detached and formed a mass just behind the lens.

Case 2 : 9 years aged male. Gestational age was 10 months.
