A patient, 21-year-old man, who complaind of loss of vision in his left eye was first examined in our clinic on May. 3. 1960. Two days prior to the first examination, he had undergone a radical operation for maxillary and ethmoidal sinusitis, and on the following day he noticed the complete loss of vision.

The light perception appeared on the 10th postoperative day and then the visual acuity gradually recovered to 0.3. After 55 days, the defect of the nasal side in the visual field and slight pallor of the temporal part of the optic disc were presented.
