緒言

　瞳孔膜は，人眼においては5カ月の胎児に最もよく発達しているが，胎生8カ月半頃までには萎縮退化し，出生時には認められない^1）2）。

　最近著者らは瞳孔膜の過形成に由来すると思われる水晶体前線維増殖症の1例を経験し，電子顕微鏡で検索することができたので報告する。

Clinical and Histological observations were made on the grayish white thin membrane in the pupil of the left eye of a 1 month-old fe-male.

This case was diagnosed as prc-lental fibro-plasia originating from the pupillary membrane. On the surface of the lens a thin membrane was seen in the upper half of the pupil. The membrane was attached to the collarette. Du-ring one year the membrane had spread down-wards and covered almost all the pupil.

The membrane and a part of the iris were extirpated, but the operation caused traumatic cataract. After operation for the cataract the ocular fundus became visible.
