水晶体後方線維増殖症の治療に就て

On treatment of retrolental fibroplasia

Ⅰ．緒言

　「Retrolental fibroplasia」の名称は1942年Terry^1）氏が始めて提唱したものであるが，その当時は本症の概念としては水晶体血管膜を含む硝子体動脈系の遺残，過形成による先天異常と考えていた。

　しかしその後，未熟児に対する酸素療法の普及に伴い米国において本症の急激な増加の傾向が見られる一方，近年未熟児や幼弱鼠の眼底検査が出産直後から経過を追つて行なわれるようになつて本症の発生経過が生後において臨床的にも実験的にも証明され，Terry氏の命名した疾患の概念と最近取扱われている本症とは区別される傾向になつて来た。

The authors described the clinical findings and progresses of two cases of retrolental fibroplasia in its typical and vigorous active stage.

"Predonine" (Prednisolone), "Durabolin" (pro-tein-anabolic hormone) and ATP were admin-istered systematically to the patients, and following effects were observed.

Case 1: Male, born prematurely at eighth month.

The weight at birth was 1.3kg. He was treated with oxygen for two months. The patient was firstly examined in the fifth month. Remarkable proliferation of greyish-white connective tissue was observed exten-sively behind the lens.
