Ten Years of Experiences in Ophthalmic Rehabilitation Clinic

緒言

　われわれは1964年2月より10年間，眼科外来の中にリハビリテーションクリニックを開設し，視覚障害者の相談にあたつてきた。リハビリテーションクリニックの内容は開設当初^2），眼科医，心理ワーカー，ソーシャルワーカーおよび歩行訓練，点字およびカナタイプの指導員などから構成され，失明宣告から職業前訓練までの業務を行なつていた。

　1969年より東京都心身障害者福祉センターの開設に伴い訓練部門はのぞいた。したがつてそれ以後は失明宣告，障害者の心理的立ち直りを目的としたカウンセリングと，方向決定および施設紹介を内容としている。

1) Councelling was given to over 810 cases of blinding eye conditions since rehabilitation clinic started in 1964 at Juntendo University Eey Clinic.

2) The major causes of blindness for these cases were congenital diseases, glaucoma or cataract.

3) Retinitis pigmentosa was in over 30% of cases, optic nerve atrophy around 10%, and glaucoma 8% of all cases at this clinic.

4) The councelling was concerned vocation, everyday living and education, but recent trend is to put more stress on living and education, as vocation has been taken up by other insti-tution.
