Ophthalmic Use of Ampiclox

I．緒言

　Ampicloxは，広域性PCであるAminobenzyl PC（AB-PC）と，Penicillinaseに安定なMethylchloro—phenylisoxazolyl PC （MCI-PC）を1：1の割合に等量配合した合剤である。

　両剤の組合せにより，抗菌スペクトルの拡大，抗菌力の増強が期待され，in vitro, in vivoにおいて相乗作用が認められている。また合剤による毒性の増強はみられず，ほかの抗生剤に比べて安全性の高い製剤である。

Ampiclox is an antibiotic preparation contain-ing aminobenzyl penicillin (AB-PC) and methyl-chlorophenylisoxazolyl penicillin (MCI-PC). Bac-teriological and clinical studies were conducted over the possible use of Ampiclox and followingdata were obtained.

The minimum growth-inhibitory concentration of AB-PC and MCI-PC against organism with known pathogenetic action in ocular infections were examined. The combination of the two preparations seemed to provide a wider antibac-terial spectrum.
