結核性眼疾患に対するKanamycin （Meiji）の効果について

Effect of Kanamycin (Meiji) on ocular tuberculosis

　Kanamycin （KM）は梅沢浜夫博士らによつて発見された抗生物質で，グラム陽性及び陰性の多数の細菌に対し強い抗菌力を示すことが証明されている。

　結核に対しても試験管内及び動物実験において強力な抗結核作用を示すと同時に臨床的にも肺結核，喉頭結核，泌尿器結核，結核性髄膜炎，骨関節結核等の諸種結核性疾患に対し著しい効果のあることが諸家によつて報告されている。

A combined treatment with Kanamycin (KM) and PAS was performed in 18 cases of ocular tuberculosis. PAS was oraly administered 10g daily, and KM injected intramuscu-larly 2 g a day and twice a week.

The results were as follows ;

1) Three cases of phlyctenular keratoconjunctivitis with many recurrence were treated effectively. One of them showed no effect in the combined PAS-SM treatment and re-markable responce in KM-PAS treatment.

2) Six cases of scleritis and sclero-keratitis were treated and all healed rapidly. No re-lapse was observed. One of the cases was a case which had shown almost on responce in SM treatment.
