Effects of Hydroxy-phenylbutazone (Tanderil)

緒言

　最近スイスGeigy社において，Butazolidinの誘導体で，かつその生体内代謝産物であり，これと同様に強力な消炎作用を有し，しかも毒性がはるかに少ないといわれるTanderil｛1—Phenyl—2—（P-hydroxypheny1）−3,5—dioxo−4—n-butylpy—razolidine monohydrate｝が合成された。Tan—derilは化学的には次のような構造式を有し，白色結晶性で，そのNa塩は水に易溶であり，融点は結晶水含有の形で約96℃である。

　このTanderilを眼科の炎症性疾患ならびに手術後の刺激症状の強い症例に使用し，良好な成績をおさめたものにWerner^1）（1960），Pestalozzi^2）（1961），浅山・坂上^3）（1961），水川・湖崎^4）（1961），笛田等^5）（1961），植村・平山^6）（1961），等がある。

Hydroxy-phenylbutazone (Tanderil) was ad-ministered to 95 cases of ocular diseases with the following results:

1. Four of 7 cases of neuritis retrobulba-ris and six of 7 cases of uveitis showed ra-pid improvement.

2. Five cases of keratitis and one case of central serous retinopathy were treated all with good results.

3. Severe irritative conditions following ocular surgery (14cases) and perforating inju-ry of the eyeball (seven cases) were favora-bly treated, showing rapid disappearance of inflammatory manifestations.
