Left ventricular function, coronary blood flow and oxygen consumption in stable left ventricular hypertrophy

　心筋の肥大は持続的な心臓負荷の増加に対する適応現象と考えられ，この心臓負荷の過程は三段階に分類される^1）。

（I）進行性心筋の肥大時期：心筋成分の活発な蓄積時期

The comparison of cardiac function, coronary flow and oxygen consumption was performed in between stable left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) and normal heart (N). Left ventricular hypertrophy in dogs was produced by banding the ascending aorta in puppies. Twelve dogs with LVH and 15 normal dogs were subjected to these studies. Cardiac output (Q) was measured by the dye-dilution technique and pressures were monitored in the aorta and left ventricle (LV). Coronary flow to the left ventricle (QLV) was measured electromagnetically.
