Objective: This study aims to explore the process of recovery of those who developed eating disorders during adolescence.

Method: We conducted semi-structured interviews with four individuals currently in recovery from eating disorders and analyzed them using the KJ method.

Results: In the development of eating disorders, "overreacting because they are too concerned about what others think of them" and "conflict in a home environment that does not approve of me as I am" In the process of losing weight, "the negative cost of losing weight" became the main focus, resulting in an extremely distressing experience while battling the illness. A "family change toward seeking to become emotionally close" gradually led to the participants' recovery, and having people they were able to trust became a "psychological support for confronting the eating disorder" Through these steps, participants increased "internal change of self" , and also experienced "thoughts and feelings that I can only have because I recovered from my eating disorder."

Conclusion: The process of recovery from eating disorders was supported emotionally by the presence of trusted people and internal changes such as self-acceptance, suggesting the need for preventive interventions that incorporate these elements.
