I．はじめに

　上顎に原発した悪性線維性組織球腫（malignantfibrous histiocytoma，以下MFHと略す）は本邦でもすでに20例以上報告されているがまだ症例数は少なく稀な疾患である。

　われわれはMFHが上顎に原発し放射線療法，化学療法，手術療法を行い，最後には広範な遠隔転移をきたして死亡した2症例に剖検を行ったので，若干の文献的考察を加えて報告する。

　In two patients with malignant fibrous histiocytoma primarily in the maxillary sinus, radiotherapy combined with intraarterial chemotherapy (BLM, 5-FU) failed to produce any appreciable clinical improvement, and consequently partial or total resections of the maxilla were undertaken. Both patients developed distant metastases, and therapeutic attempts with combined anticancer regimens (EX, ADM, MMC) and intrapleural ADM infusion against the distant metastatic lesions resulted in no clinical benefit.

　The findings in these cases stressed the importance of early accurate diagnosis and treatment by extended resection of tumor since the results of radiation and chemotherapy were usually discouraging not only for primary lesion but against metastasis.
