I．はじめに

　単純性庖疹ウイルス（Herpes simplex virus，以下HSVと略）は広く世界に分布しており^1,2），多くのものは小児期に初感染するが^2,3），そのうちの90％^4）ないし99％^5）は不顕性感染に終わる。耳鼻咽喉科領域では，疱疹性歯肉口内炎が幼児期を中心として起こるが^6），環境衛生の改善などにより，HSVに対する抗体保持者が減少して^2,3），成人にも症状の激しい初感染例がときにみられるようになってきた。

　我々は喉頭蓋，中・底下咽頭に始まり，口唇，口腔にも発生し，その後3度の再発疹も主に喉頭蓋に発症したHSV感染例を経験した。喉頭蓋のHSV感染の報告は見当たらないので，皮膚科領域におけるHSV感染の現状とともに報告する。

　A case of herpes simplex infection in a 59-year-old female was reported. This patient was characteristic of lesion of the epiglottis. Initial infection was severe, spread to the larynx, pharynx, oral cavity and lips, and was supposed as primary infection. Recurrence was noticed thrice and the majority of the lesion was localized to the epiglottis.

　Herpes simplex infection at the Dermatological Clinic of Tokai University Hospital was statistically reported. Distribution of 138 patients consists of two peaks ; a low peak in infants and a high peak in twenties and thirties. The younger the age, the more extensive the lesion of herpes simplex was.
