慢性中耳炎の急性増悪時におけるウイルス感染とマイコプラズマ感染

Respiratory Virus and Mycoplasma pneumoniae Infections at Acute Exacerbation of Chronic Otitis Media

I．はじめに

　上気道の感染は一般に中耳炎と関連があると臨床家の間で広く認められている。

　慢性中耳炎の患者も風邪をひくと耳漏が急に増加し，急性増悪という状態になると考えられている。しかし，いわゆる風邪ひきの状態になる風邪症候群には，いろいろの原因がある。その主な原因として呼吸器系のウイルスやマイコプラズマの感染がある。そこで，慢性中耳炎で急に耳漏が増加したケースでは，その時にウイルスやマイコプラズマの感染を受けているのだろうか，これを知る目的で，以下の研究を行った。

　In 26 patients suffering from acute exacerbation of chronic otitis media, at the time of sudden increase in otorrhea and three to four weeks later, 20 species of respiratory viruses and Mycoplasma pneumoniae in serum were examined. Influenza B and RSV infections were demonstrated in four and two cases, respectively. Examinations showed no infection in 10 control cases.

　In 36 cases of acute exacerbation of chronic otitis media, attempts were made to isolate viruses from the pharynx and otorrhea. Influenza B virus was detected in scraped mucous of the pharynx from two cases and RSV from another.
