　I．はじめに

　日本人の生活様式が欧米化するに従い，また身体の発育も良くなるにつれ，病気に関しても欧米化してきたといわれる。このことは耳鼻咽喉科領域についてもいえ，一例として多数の人により指摘されているごとく，慢性副鼻腔炎の減少に対する鼻アレルギーの増加がある。鼻アレルギーの増加については，第81回の日耳鼻総会においてもシンポジウムが組まれ検討報告された。今回筆者らも，鼻アレルギー患者の推移を10年前，5年前と比較し，従来の報告と同様な成績を得ることができた。またいくつかの興味ある傾向も認められたので，若干の考察も加え報告する。

　In 1979, 447 cases of nasal allergy visited our hospital. There was a significant increase in the number of patients with this disease this year, about four times compared with those in 1969, and about two times compared with those in 1974. In tree season and weed season, the number of patients was more increased. About 40 per cent of male patients reported the onset of symptoms prior to the age of 10, on the other hand, female showed the later onset. About 25 per cent of these patients were also affected with chronic paranasal sinusitis which was found by nose x-ray and anterior rhinoscopy. The number of the patients increased recently throughout Osaka Prefecture but much increased in and around Osaka city.
