はじめに

　アスピリン喘息（aspirin-induced asthma, AIA）はアスピリン過敏症，喘息，鼻茸をtriasとする疾患である。本症については既に多くの報告があり，われわれも耳鼻咽喉科から見たAIAというものについていくつか報告^1-4）している。

　AIAの症状としては，喘息，呼吸困難などの下気道症状，くしゃみ，水性鼻汁，鼻閉の鼻アレルギー症状に加え嗅覚脱出などの嗅覚障害を伴うことが多いことも知られている。従来からの報告でも，われわれの経験でも100％に近い症例で訴えている。このような重要な症状にもかかわらず，現在までAIAの嗅覚について詳細に検討した報告は見られない。

　以上のことから，今回AIAにおいて嗅覚検査を行ったところ，興味ある成績が認められたので報告する。

Patients in aspirin-induced asthma (AIA) fre-quentry complain of olfactory disorder. In this study, we examined the disorder of smell in 9 AIA cases using T & T olfactometry and nasal endoscopy. Seven cases showed no response for smell, one showed severe and another one showed mild disturbance. The lesion was the mixture of olfactory mucosa and respiratory obstruction by a turbinal swelling in 8 cases, and another one showed only repiratory obstruction. The frequ-ency and degree of olfactory disorder in AIA was different from that in sinusitis and nasal allergy. Severe disorder of smell may be a typical symptom in AIA.
