Ⅰ．緒言
耳下腺腫瘍は比較的少ない腫瘍であるといわれている。さらに，耳下腺に原発する悪性腫瘍は稀なものとされている。
最近，われわれは耳下腺原発の扁平上皮癌の剖検例を経験したので報告する。
A case of spontaneous epithelioma of the parotid gland is reported. A man, aged 43, complained of slight swelling of the left parotid region of 15 year standing, which suddenly enlarged to the size of an egg since 2 months ago. The diagnosis of epithelioma was established. A radical operation for the removal of the growth and the surrounding glands was carried out, followed by supplemental treatment of 5,000 rad of cobalt irradiation as well as administration 4,750mg of 5FU. For a considerable period postoperatively the patient showed improvement but at the end of 20 months the patient died.
The post mortem examination showed the growth metastasis invading the lungs, mediastinal tissues, thyroid gland, pericardium, and tracheal lymph glands.
The review of literature showed reports of 30 cases of parotid gland malignancy in this country in the recent 10 years.
