　I．はじめに

　唾液腺を発生母地とする腫瘍には病理組織学的にいくつかの種類に分類されているが，1945年，Stewartら^1）は粘液分泌機能を営む粘細胞と類表皮様の性格をもつ細胞からなる腫瘍をmucoepidermoid tumor（粘表皮癌）と名づけた。

　われわれは最近，上顎，口蓋に発現した粘表皮癌症例の剖検例を経験したので報告する。

　A man, aged 59, complained of toothache and a tumor of the right cheek that had invaded the palate and the maxilla. With clinical findings and scintiscanning examination by means of ⁶⁷Ga, it was decided that operative therapy was contraindicated. The patient was given irradiation therapy with ⁶⁰Co which amounted to 11,000 rads and administration of 130 grams of Endoxan and 75 mg of Bleomycin. The patient died 5 months after the admission.

　The post mortem examination showed the metastasis of the tumor into the pleura, diaphragm and the thoracic aorta that proved to be indifferentiated carcinoma.
