　I．はじめに

　1889年眼科医Berry, G. A. ^1）が始めて報告し，その後1900年にTreacher Collins^2）が，1944年にFranceschetti^3）が詳細にそのSyndromeについて報告し，Treacher Collins SyndromeまたはDysostosis mandibulofacialisと呼ばれている。本症は先天的に眼瞼，顎骨，外耳，中耳などに奇形があり，特異な顔貌すなわちVogelgesicht，fishlike profileを呈する稀な疾患である。われわれは最近本症のほぼ完全型と思われる症例に遭遇し聴力改善手術を施行し中耳奇形の所見を得たので報告し，併せて，本邦における手術例につき文献的に検討を加えた。

　A case of dysostosis mandibulofacialis with the characteristic facies (Vogelgesicht) derived from the malformation of the palpebrum, mandibular bone, the external and the middle ear, is reported

　The patient was a boy, aged 10, whose chief complaint was hard of hearing. Hearing tests showed 44dB in the right ear and 76dB in the left to speech vange.

　An attempt at surgical correction of the deformities was made.
