　はじめに

　粘表皮腫は1945年，Stewartら^1）によって最初に報告された腫瘍で，耳下腺や顎下腺などの大唾液腺に多い腫瘍である。その臨床的性質から，近年，悪性腫瘍と考えられるようになり，粘表皮癌とも呼ばれている。今回われわれは，比較的稀な上咽頭に発生した粘表皮腫の1例を経験したので，文献的考察を加え報告する。

A 47-year-old male suffered from left ear full-ness. The tumor was found to localized in the nasopharynx, and the histological examination revealed mucoepidermoid tumor. The tumor was removed by transmandibular transpterygoid ap-proach. He had been free from recurrence after operation. To our knowledge, only 14 cases of mucoepidermoid tumor of the nasopharynx have been reported in Japan, and we discuss the etiology with review of literature.
