　Ⅰ．はじめに

　緑膿菌による髄膜炎はまれな疾患であり，1894年にKossel^1）ならびにPesina u. Honl^2）が緑膿菌性脳膜炎の報告を行なつた。本邦においては1930年に徳永^3）が生後24日の乳児の緑膿菌性変形菌性化膿性脳膜炎を最初に報告している。

　著者は最近生後40日の乳児の急性緑膿菌性中耳炎より継発した髄膜炎を経験したので報告し，あわせて若干の統計的考察を試みた。

A male infant 40 days after birth was foUnd to be affected with fungus infection of the middle ear. On the second day the infant began to vomit and on the fourth day it developed a ptosis of the left eyelid, pupillary dilatation and spontaneous nystagmus, symptoms of meningitis. The mastoid cells were opened for drainage but the patient died. The middle ear and mastoid culture showed a growth of fungus. Other cases of fungus meningitis reported in the literature of this country are discussed.
