　Ⅰ．はじめに

　年齢が加わるとともに難聴を訴えるものがしだいに多くなり，老人性難聴という疾患が存在している。しかし老人の難聴の原因は必ずしも老人性難聴のみとは限らない。また老人の人口の増加とともに，老人の難聴のrehabilitationは今後重要性を増してくるはずである。したがつて老人の難聴の原因と，これらに対して著者らが行なつた処置を知り，今後の治療の方向を決めるのが，この観察の目的である。

In cases of hard of hearing among aged persons there are more often factors causing the loss of hearing than the mere fact of being aged (194 cases of this nature out of 243 cases examined or 80%). One hundred fifty cases of this group required treatment; 61.7%. Out of the latter number 112 cases were treated: the hearing became better in 78 cases or 69.6%. The authors stress that in cases of hard of hearing in the aged in-sufflation of the auditory tube is something that is indispensable ; and in some cases the use of hearing aid is the only solution.
