下咽頭・食道憩室は比較的稀な疾患とされているが，私達は最近下咽頭側壁，気管分岐部及び横隔膜直上部にみられた憩室の各1例計3例を経験したので，その経過の概略を報告し，諸賢のご批判を仰ぐ次第である。
Three cases of esophageal diverticulum that occurred in the region of this organ corresponding to subpahryngeal, bronchial bifurcation and supra-diaphragmatic are repo-rted. The diverticulum occurring at the subpharyngeal region seems to to be situated, from X-ray studies, where the pharyngeal wall relatively weak and where the pressure at the time of deglutition was shown to be lowered; and the transient increase in the intrapharyngeal pressure seem to have no effect in the etiology.
Etiological cause of the diverticulum found in the corresponding region of bronchial bif-urcation and immediately above the abdomi-nal diaphragm may be due to forces that may be created by the action of sucking and bloating
