　1861年Ménièreがこの疾患を発表して以来今日迄実験的，臨床的，病理学的に幾多の研究がなされて来たが未だ原因は明確にされておらない。それ故治療法も水分代謝及び塩分代謝異常，アレルギー，局所感染，栄養障碍，自律神経異常，血行障碍，内分泌障碍等の諸説に基いて多種多様である。吾が教室においても使用薬物に変遷がみられるが，最近5年間に治療されたものの効果を一括して検討してみた。

The effectivity of the drug therapy which was adopted towards treatment of Ménière's disease at the Otlaryngological Department of the Niigata University is evaluated. As far as vertigo the chief symptom of this disease was concerned 91 cases of the 148 treated or 61% showed either being relieved or comple-tely cured ; similarly for tinnitus, 25 cases out of 61 or 41% and for hard of hearing, 15 cases out of 61 or 25%. Chances of cure appeared to be more hopeful when the treatment is instituted early in the disease whereas, after reaching the stage of becoming subacute in character cure seemed to be as being almost hopeless.
