　緒言

　所謂神経性難聽なるものの中には原因不明なものがすくなくない．私どもは最近両側大脳外側谷槽Cisterna Valleculae latenalis cerebriの蛛網膜炎（蜘蛛膜炎）による内耳神経聽神経幹の炎症機転によると考えられるもので開頭術により著しく聽力を恢復した内耳性難聽の1例を経験したので茲にその臨床症状並に経過を述べ，聊か之に対し卑見を述べてみたいと思う．

KANOO reports a case who, in a woman aged 24 with complaints of loss of hearing, tinnitus and of difficulty of coordination of the lowere extremies, showed marked improvement in hearing following operation on the head. The author believes the lo-ss of functions, hearing and vestikular, in this case was not due to pathhological processes within the labyrinthine mechanisms but in the 8th nerve trunk, which was affected by rachnoiditis at the region of cisterna valleculae lateralis cerebri, in such a way that higher centers and peripheral organs were severed of their interconnections.
