I．はじめに

　悪性脳腫瘍の治療に際し，われわれは1980年度より総計280例の手術摘出標本を単層下で培養し，抗癌剤などの接触実験を行うとともに，How cytometry（FACSIII, Becton-Dickinson社，以下FCM）を用いて，これら脳腫瘍細胞の生長解析を行ってきた^{9-12, 21）}．単層培養法においては，特にgliomaでは細長い細胞突起を有し，生着率が他の腫瘍細胞に比べて高いので，この培養細胞を用いることにより個々の症例に対する抗癌剤感受性検査がより可能であると考えられた．さらにFCMによる脳腫瘍細胞の生長解析に基づいた抗癌剤の効果判定が簡便かつ有用なものであり，その臨床的応用も比較的容易であると考えられた^7,8）．

　今回，単層培養下の株化脳腫瘍細胞に対してFCMを用いた新しい抗癌剤感受性検査を開発施行し，その有用性を検討した．そして臨床例に対しても本法を施行し，種々の薬剤の中から至適抗癌剤の選択を試みたので，これらの成績について本法の紹介を加え報告する．

Flow cytometry (FCM) has been used not only for the judgement of malignant tumor cells but also for the evaluation of chemotherapy. Recently, we esta-blished a new application of FCM for the choice of the best antineoplastic agent in the chemotherapy of brain tumor.

At first, the system of sensitivity test was developed through the preliminary study using established brain tumor cell line. Antineoplastic agents were contacted with the cells in the monolayered culture and the cell viability and the changes of DNA-histogram were analyzed by FCM.
