I．はじめに

　flow cytometry（FCM）を用いて，種々の脳腫瘍のDNA量の分布の分析をすると，G₁期の割合がその悪性度の指数となること^7,20），悪性脳腫瘍と良性脳腫瘍ではそのパターンにも種々あることなどを報告した^10-12）．今回，脳腫瘍の組織培養下で腫瘍細胞のDNA量分布がどのように変化するかを検索し，cell cycleとそのパターンを分析，検討した．

　This study is a continuation of our flow cytometric investigations on the distribution of DNA content in tumors of the central nervous system. This report concerns the DNA distribution of benign and malignant gliomas and of cultured cells derived therefrom.

　The original specimens and cultures of 2 benign astrocytomas, 9 glioblastomas and 2 gliosarcomas were studied. The tumor cells were grown in Eagle's Minimum Essential Medium supplemented with fetal bovine serum and an antibiotic-antimycotic mixture. Primary cultures and cells subcultured 2 to 3 times were compared with the original tumor specimens.
