I．はじめに

　脳腫瘍のDNA量についての検索は，flow cytometry（FCMと略す）またはflow microfluorometryにおける機器の開発研究により^15），瞬時にして相対的DNA量の測定ができるようになり，すでに基礎的分野から臨床的分野まで幅広く報告がなされてきている^{8,13,14,16-21,35）}．

　われわれは，1975年Krishanが開発したpropidium　iodie^9,23）を用い，種々の脳腫瘍細胞の悪性度がFCMにより簡単かつ迅速に判明すること^16-21），またglioblas-tomaにおいて部位別に異なったパターンをとることなどを指摘してきた^20）．しかし，転移性脳腫瘍についての検索はまだ少なく，1978年の星野らの報告にみられるにすぎない^14）．一方，原発巣としての面から注目すると，FCMを用いて肺癌^1,11,31），乳癌^2），前立腺癌^4,30,37）などのDNA最分布についての検索がいくつか報告されている．今回われわれは，種々の転移性脳腫瘍について，FCMによるDNAヒストグラムのパターンおよびcell　cycleについて分析するとともに，原発性腫瘍として乳癌，肺癌についても同様に分析し，両者の相関関係について検討した．

The distribution of DNA content in 12 cases of metastatic brain tumor, 6 cases of primary lung cancer and 6 cases of primary breast cancer were studied by flow cytometry.

According to the pattern of DNA histogram, 12 specimens of metastatic brain tumors were classified into 3 types. Six cases of type I showed a sharp peak in 2C with large numbers of cells in 4C, 4 cases of type Ⅱ showed the highest peak near 3C with a small peak in 2C, and 2 cases of type Ⅲ showed a shift of the peak to the right near 4-5C.
