Ⅰ．はじめに
1歳以下の乳児脳腫瘍の頻度は比較的稀であるが，最近コンピュータ断層撮影（以下CTと略）の導入により診断が容易となり，その頻度が増加する傾向にある．われわれは生後55日目の乳児で水頭症の診断にて入院し，CTスキャン等の検査にて脳腫瘍と診断され，血中α−フェトプロテイン（以下AFPと略）が異常高値を示し，脳室内出血をきたした1例を剖検したので，その詳細を報告する．
This report is concerned with a 55-day-old female hospitalized because of intraventricular hemorrhage from a tumor in the pineal region. Examination of serum alpha fetoprotein showed 7400 ng/ml.
The patient expired because of frequent intraventricular hemorrhage and progressive hydrocephalus. Autopsy demonstrated the tumor was ependymoblastoma. No teratomatous component was noticed in the histological examination.
High serum alpha fetoprotein in relation to tumor histology was briefly discussed.
