　尿路感染予防は排尿障害患者の管理に不可欠である。そこで，①残尿量，尿比重と尿路感染（以下，UTI）の相関の有無，②UTIを起こす具体的残尿量と尿比重，③残尿量と尿比重はお互いにUTIに関して独立して関与するか，につき検討した。排尿障害患者420名（男性408名，女性12名，23歳から93歳，平均68.3歳）を対象とした。原疾患は前立腺肥大症173名，神経因性膀胱241名，前立腺癌6名であった。結果は，①UTIありは，なしに比べて有意に残尿量が多く，尿比重も高かった，②残尿量148ml以上，尿比重1.019以上で有意にUTIの合併率が高くなった，③残尿量と尿比重は統計的にUTIに関し互いに独立して関与していた。以上より，排尿障害患者のUTI予防には残尿量を148ml以下，尿比重を1.019以下とすることが具体的な基準と考えられた。

In patients with voiding disorders, it is important to avoid UTI (urinary tract infection). We studied the correlation between the amount of residual urine as well as urine specific gravity and UTI, the actual amount of residual urine and the level of urine specific gravity that induces UTI. Included were 420 patients with voiding disorders (408 males, 12 females; aged 23 to 93 yr, avg. age 68.3 yr). Primary diseases were benign prostatic hyperplasia in 173 patients, neurogenihc bladder in 241 and prostatic cancer in 6.
