停留睾丸にみられた副睾丸垂捻転の1例

TORSION OF THE APPENDIX EPIDIDYMIS IN A MALDESCENDED TESTIS

緒言

　停留睾丸は，男子性器奇型のうち，最も多い疾患である。その停留睾丸の合併症については，これまで，悪性変化，睾丸機能低下，精索捻転などが報告されているが，最近われわれは，停留睾丸に合併した副睾丸垂捻転症の1例を経験した。

A boy aged 11 years was admitted with a 48-hour history of pain at the right iliac fossa. On exa-mination a tender swelling mass was felt in the right inguinal canal and the right testis was absent in the scrotum. A presumptive diagnosis of torsion of a maldescended testis was made. At operation the right testis was apperently normal and a gangrenous appendage on the head of the epididymis was found. The appendage was excised and orchiopexy was performed. There have been reported only two cases of torsion of the appendix epididymis in a maldescended testis. This is the first case in Japan.
