緒言

　女子尿道平滑筋腫は比較的稀な疾患であり，本邦文献上34例にすぎない。最近著者は，女子尿道平滑筋腫の1例を経験したのでここに報告する。

A 63-year-old married female, was hospitalized with a complaint of discomfort on urination. She had been treated by the family doctor under the diagnosis of the urinary tract infection. Physical examination revealed a cherry-sized, elastic and firm mass protruding from the left lateral wall of the urethra. The excision of the mass showed a 2×2×1.4cm tumor and the histopathological diagnosis was leiomyoma of the urethra. The patient was discharged from the hospital 18 days postoperatively in good condition. Review of the literature was made.
