　はじめに

　複視と右頬部しびれ感を主訴とした，蝶形洞原発と考えられた頭蓋内扁平上皮癌の症例を経験したので，剖検の結果を含め若干の考察を加えて報告する。

An autopsied case of intracranial squamous cell carcinoma originating in the sphenoid sinus is re-ported. A tumor of the middle cranial fossa of a 61-year-old male was accidentally found by CT scan.He had complained of diplopia and right cheek numbness. Neither biopsy nor surgical removal of the tumor was performed because he had diabetes, acute myocardial infaction, chronic renal failure, and bleeding tendency.

He died of acute myocardial infarction, and an autopsy was done.

We could not find in the literature such a case of sphenoid sinus carcinoma which invades middle cranial fossa widely, but does not invade the eth-omoid sinus or nasal cavity.
