側頸部より副咽頭間隙に進展した脂肪腫の1症例

A Case of Lipoma Extended from the Neck to the Parapharyngeal Space

　はじめに

　脂肪腫は軟部組織から発生する腫瘍の中ではその発生頻度は少なくなく，全身の各種臓器に発生する。しかし，耳鼻咽喉科領域における脂肪腫の発生頻度は低い^1,2）。また，脂肪腫は発育が緩慢であり自覚症状に乏しいために，ときに大きく進展した症例に遭遇する。今回われわれは，右側頸部より副咽頭間隙に発生した巨大な脂肪腫の1例を経験したので，その概要を報告する。

Although lipoma is commonly found in soft tis-sues, lipomatous tumors of the parapharyngeal space are rare.

A 61-year-old male had a lobulated lipoma aris-ing in the right lateral cervical area extending to the parapharyngeal space. CT and MRI were useful for the diagnosis of lipomas. Radiographic imaging, including CT and MRI, as well as fine needle aspira-tion implicated a lipoma as the probable diagnosis.Lipomas in the deep neck show a slow growth in the medial direction with a lobulated appearance separ-ating the connective tissue.

This lipoma was fully excised under general anesthesia and recurrence is not anticipated.
