　はじめに

　脂肪肉腫は，軟部組織に発生する悪性腫瘍のなかでは比較的頻度の高いもののひとつであるが，その大部分は四肢，後腹膜に発生し，頭頸部領域に発生するものは稀である^1〜7）。

　今回われわれは咽頭後間隙に生じた脂肪肉腫の1例を経験したので，若干の文献的考察を加えて報告する。

A 83-year-old male complained of dyspnca, and roentogenological examinations revealed a low-den-sity mass in the retropharyngeal space. The lesion was not removed totally because of an adhesion to the posterior wall of esophagus. The tumor was diagnosed as well differentiated liposarcoma histologically.

Postoperative irradiation or chemotherapy was not performed in consideration of his elderly age and tumor pathology.

Liposarcoma is rarely found in the retropharyn-geal space. Diagnostic and therapeutic problems of this tumor was discussed with a review of the literature.
