　はじめに

　頸部縦隔気腫は外科的侵襲，外傷，喘息発作などを誘因として発症することが多いとされているが，われわれ耳鼻咽喉科医が日常臨床で遭遇することは稀である。今回われわれは，水中での加圧と過度の発声にて生じた頸部縦隔気腫の2例を経験したので，若干の考察を加えて報告する。

A 13-year-old girl complained of anterior neck pain during diving below 1m depth, and a 15-year-old boy developed dyspnea and anterior neck pain during excessive vocal exercise in baseball. In both cases, plain X-ray film and CT scan revealed cer-vical and mediastinal emphysema. The first patient was treated conservatively without admission and emphysema was subsided within 7 days. The second patient was treated conservatively in admission and recoverd in the following 12 days without any com-plication.
