　はじめに

　欧米諸国において，AIDSは耳鼻咽喉科領域にも様々な症状を呈していることが報告されている。しかし，本邦において，耳鼻咽喉科領域に症状を呈したAIDS報告例^1〜7）は，まだ少ない。今回，われわれは両側急性感音難聴を発症したHuman Immunodeficiency Virus （HIV）感染症の1例を経験したので，若干の文献的考察を加え報告する。

A 35-year-old woman was admitted to our hospi-tal with a complaint of sudden hearing loss of the right ear.

Initial diagnosis was idipathic sensorineural hear-ing impairment of the right ear and she was treated with steroids, vitamine B₁₂ and diuretics. However, her hearing in the right ear became more deteriorat-ed and her hearing in the left ear was also deterior-ated.

ABR showed abnormal wave forms, but brain MRI and CSF routine studies were normal.

During the course of treatment, the patient firstly confessed that she had been positive for HIV and her husband had also been treated for AIDS in another hospital. Finally, serological study con-firmed that she was positive for HIV.
