緒言
今回われわれは，産婦人科で用いられる子宮頸管拡張器のラミナリアを食道狭窄症の治療に使用し，良好な経過を得たので文献的考察を加え報告する。
The authors attempted dilation of stricture of the esophagus using a piece of laminaria (DILAPANTM, Hygroscopic cervical dilator) in two patients ;Plummer-Vinson syndrome and postirradiation stenosis of 18 year's duration. The laminaria was advanced to the stenotic portion of the esophagus under direct laryngoscopy and kept in place for 5 days. The laminaria became inflated to 12 mm in diameter as appropriate for dilating the stenosis. This method was effective for at least 4 years in Plummer-Vinson syndrome, but it was less effective in the case of postirradiation stenosis.
