A nystagmographic system with infrared Frenzel goggles using a quad screen splitter

Ⅰ．はじめに

　自発眼振検査，頭位眼振検査，頭位変換眼振検査，指標追跡検査をはじめとする眼振検査^1）は，めまいの診断，治療，経過観察に必要不可欠である。実際の臨床では，ほとんどは医師が検者として一般外来診療中に行っている。最近は良性発作性頭位めまい症に対する理学療法^2）も広く行われるようになり，個々の患者の眼振の誘発，観察には十分な時間が必要である。しかし，限られた診療時間内に医師が必要と考える症例についての眼振検査をすべて行うことは難しいことも少なくない。そこでわれわれは以下に示すような眼振記録システムを考案し，生理機能検査技師との協力により，めまい患者の眼振を記録し，実際に運用を行った。運用開始より2年が経過し，若干の修正を加えて現在まで有効に活用している。本システムの概要について報告する。

　We developed a system for recording of spontaneous nystagmus visualized　with infrared Frenzel goggles and of patient's head position using an inexpensive recording system(commercially available DVD recorder with HDD, 4-division image input unit). On a screen,the nystagmus findings in bilateral eyes, patient's head position during examination, name of the patient, and medical record number are displayed for providing helpful data for analysis of nystagmus. This system may be useful for various purposes such as the detailed examination of nystagmus, shortening of the treatment time in the out patient clinic, and the recording and/or storage of examination results.
