　プロスタグランディンF_2α誘導体であるラタノプロスト0.005％点眼液の調節と瞳孔径に及ぼす影響を検索した。26歳から31歳の正常者10名の片眼に5分間の間隔で2回点眼し，4時間後にアコモドメータで遠点・近点・調節力を，赤外線電子瞳孔計で瞳孔径を，圧平眼圧計で眼圧を測定した。全例でわずかな眼圧下降が起こった（p＜0.01）。遠視化が2例，近視化が2例，近点延長が4例，散瞳が4例に起こった。これら調節と瞳孔径の変化は，点眼による毛様筋の弛緩と毛様筋間隙の増大によると推定した。これらの副作用は，ラタノプロスト点眼による緑内障治療に際して留意すべきである。

We evaluated the effect of 0.005% latanoprost instillation on the accommodation and pupil size. It was instilled twice with the interval of 5 minutes in one eye of 10 healthy volunteers aged from 26 and 31 years. Four hours later, accommodometer was used to measure the far and near points as well as the accommodation power, infrared pupillometer was used to measure the pupil size, and applanation tonometer for tonometry. Slight decrease in intraocular pressure resulted in all the eyes (p＜0.01). Hyperopia was induced in 2 eyes, myopia in 2 eyes, increase of near point in 4 eyes, and mydriasis in 4 eyes. The observed changes in accommodation and pupil size seemed to be due to relaxation of ciliary muscles and widening of intermuscular space in the ciliary body. We advocate to pay due attention to these complications in treating glaucoma with topical latanoprost.
