　福岡大学限科を受診した家族性滲出性硝子体網膜症（FEVR）で4年以上の長期経過観察を行った9例18眼の経過治療について検討した。

　若年期より網膜周辺部に血管瘤，Snowflake様の白斑がみられる滲出性変化の強い症例8眼はすべてその病像が進行し，4眼（50％）が牽引性網膜剥離へ進行した。

　牽引性網膜剥離へ進行した症例3眼に硝子体手術を行い2眼は網膜復位を得たが，その際，術後に網膜または虹彩における血管新生を2眼に発症した。

　この様な病像の進行を予防するためには無血管帯ならびにその境界部にかけて光凝固を行うことが有効であると思われた。

　滲出性変化の強いFEVR （重症型）は若年期に病像が急激に進行する可能性があるため，充分な経過観察が必要である。

We observed the clinical course of 18 eyes, 9 patients, with familial exudative vitreoretinopathy for periods ranging from 4 to 14 years. The present series included 6 eyes with incomplete type of FEVR with avascular peripheral retina, 8 eyes with complete type with aneurysmal dilatation of retinal vessels in the periphery and retinal exudates in addition to peripheral avascular retina, and 4 eyes with tranctional retinal detachment. One eye among 6 eyes of incomplete type progressed to complete type. Tractional retinal detachmentdeveloped in 4 out of 8 eyes of complete type of the condition.

Tractional retinal detachment was preceded by ridge-like protrusion of aneurysmal retinal vessels into the vitreous and increase in the amount of retinal exudates. We performed vitrectomy in 3 out of these 4 eyes. Retinal reattachment resulted in 2 eyes. Iris and retinal neovascularization appeared in 2 eyes after vitrectomy. Prophylactic photocoagulation to the avascular retinal area seemed to be of value in the prevention of eventual retinal detachment and neovascular reaction.
