　電動ドリル研磨による翼状片手術を前回報告した229眼の他に305眼追加して行い，合計534眼，8年間にわたる成績を改めて報告した。術後の0.04％マイトマイシンC点眼は，1日3回，3日間点眼が最適であった。1回の手術による治癒率は84.6％であり，83眼（15.5％）に合併症を生じた。内訳は再発54眼（全534眼の10.1％），肉芽形成21眼（3.9％），強膜壊死6眼（1.1％），角膜穿孔2眼（0.4％）であった。本法は簡便確実で有用性が再確認された。

We operated on 534 eyes with pterygium during an 8-year period ending July 1982. The patients were followed up for 3 months to 8 years (average: 4 years 7 months). Pterygium was removed with an electric drill. Topical instillation of 0.04% mitomycin C and 0.1% dexamethasone was routinely performed postoperatively.

A cure rate of 84.6% was achieved. Complications developed in 15.5% and were composed of recur-rence of pterygium (10.1%), granuloma formation (3.9%), scleral necrosis (1.1%) and corneal perforation (0.4%).
