Abstract 文献概要

　角膜ヘルペスに対するhuman fibroblast interferon （Hu IFN—β）の効果および必要点眼回数を兎を用いて検討し，次の様な結果ならびに結論を得た。

（1） Human fibroblast interferonは，家兎角膜ヘルペスに対し発症防止効果を持っていた。

（2） Human fibroblast interferonは，家兎角膜ヘルペスにおいてでき上がった潰瘍に対する治療効果は無かった。

（3）1日3回の点限による発症防止効果は，1日10回の点眼による効果と等しかった。

（4） Human fibroblast interferonを人の角膜ヘルペスに応用する際，10⁶IU／mlを用いる場合には1日3回位の点眼回数が妥当ではないかと思われる。

We evaluated the effects of human fibroblast interferon (Hu IFN-β) in the prevention and treatment of experimental herpetic keratitis in rabbits.

When Hu IFN-β was applied at the concentra-tion of 10⁶ IU/ml and 10 times daily at an hourly interval, it effectively prevented the occurrence of herpetic keratitis. The treatment was ineffective for established dendritic ulcers. A similar preven-tive effect as above was achieved by three topical applications of the agent per day.
