　先きにImplantによる濾過手術を改良し，家兎緑内障に対する実験を行ない良好な成績を得，報告したが，今回は何らかの愁訴を有するcontrol不良の絶体緑内障21眼に対する臨床応用について検討した。術前眼圧は最高74mmHg，最低38mmHg，平均54mmHgであった。術後観察期間は23ヵ月から2ヵ月，平均11ヵ月で，全例に多かれ少なかれ眼圧の下降と共に愁訴の軽減消失をみた。術後24mmHg以下にまで眼圧の下降した症例数は，点眼等の併用例も加えると14例であった。眼球癆となった例3例，24mmHg以下に眼圧の下降が得られない例は4例であった。

An effort has been under way to develop a new surgical procedure to be used after all conventional medical and operative treatments have failed. A preliminal trial with draining implant proved successful in experimentally induced glaucoma in rabbits (Tanaka 1979). The implant consists of a thin and slender translimbal band part and hexagon plate made of a very thin (0.05 mm) silicone film with hydrophilic surface. The band is placed under the scleral half-layer flap and the connected plate consisting with the filtering bleb is fixed on the sclera between the insertions of two rectus muscles.
