網膜動脈塞栓症のHeparin療法

Heparin treatment of retinal artery occlusion

　網膜動脈塞栓症は網膜の血行障害により急激に視力の低下を来す予後不良の疾患である。本症は1859年Graefeにより始めて報告されて以来種々の治療法が試みられて来たが今尚充分効果を期待し得るほど適確な治療法は存しない。

　今回私共は抗血液凝固剤療法の適応の一疾患としてHeparinの問歇静注を試みてみたので以下にその成績を報告する。

4 patients with ratinal artery occlusion were treated with Heparin injection : 50mg of Heparin was administered intravenously by intermittent injection four times a day.

The results were as follows :

1) Fairly effective results were observed in 3 of 4 cases.

2) Better result was obtained in a case with branch artery occlusion than those with central artery occlusion, and the sooner the treatment started after the onset of the disease, the better the result obtained.

3) Measurement of the caliber of the retinal blood vessels following the injection of the drug revealed a dilatation of the blood vessels.
