Anticoagulant treatment, employing Heparin, Phenylindanedione and Dicumarol, was car-ried out on 5 patients with retinal vein thrombosis, determinating prothrombin concentra-tion as an indicator of the control. The results are as follow.

1) All the anticoagulants are effective against retinal vein thrombosis.

2) Heparin is most effective with minimal side-effects, although it is expensive and has an inconviniency administered only by injection.

3) Dicumarol is inconvinient to control, having no effective antagonists in Japan.
