網膜動脈塞栓症のFibrinolysin療法

Fibrinolysin treatment of retinal artery obstruction

　網膜動脈塞栓症は網膜動脈の閉塞によつて急激に網膜機能の低下を来す予後極めて不良の疾患である。本症治療法としては従来血管拡張剤，眼球マッサージ，前房穿刺等が試みられ近年は抗凝血剤も使用されている。

　強力な血栓溶解作用を有するFibrinolysinを始めて本症治療に試みたのはClifton （1958）でその後少なからぬ報告がある。

Five patients with occlusion of retinal arte-ry were treated with human fibrinolysin "Fi-brinolysin Human Lyovac (Merck)."

Three patients were treated by intravenous infusion. Fibrinolysin was administered in-travenously, at a rate of 50,000 units per hour amounting to a daily dosage of 50,000 to 150,000 units for 1 to 3 days.

The treatment was very effective in one case with incomplete retinal artery occlusion. The vision and visual field of the affected eye recovered almost perfectly and a complete restoration of blood flow in the retinal vessels was observed.
