Studies on glaucoma Part XII: The basic experiment of the invocation test of glaucoma

Ⅰ．緒言

　緑内障は眼科領域に於ける代表的疾患であり，その歴典もかなり古いが1860年に至り，Graefe氏により始めて眼圧と結びつけて考えられ，眼圧上昇がこの疾患の原因とされるに至つた。更に1905年，Schiötz氏が始めて実用的な眼圧計を考案し，眼圧測定が臨床的に容易に，而も可成り正確に出来る様になつて，緑内障の研究も大きく進歩した結果，単性緑内障の如く眼圧の高くない緑内障の存在も認められるに至つた。従つて緑内障の定義も現在では眼圧調節機能障碍により視機能の障碍される疾患であるとされるに至つた次第である。

　扨て，この緑内障は罹患率が可成り高く，治療法も種々行われているが，何れも完全に永久的なものではなく，屡々再発を繰返して結局失明に陥る事が多い重篤なる疾患であるにも拘らず，その初期は発見が困難であり，単なる老視と混同される場合が極めて多い現状である。従つて緑内障の早期診断，経過観察，治療の効果判定を目的とする誘発試験なるものは，その意義が極めて大きいと考えられる。

In spite of the importance of the invocation test of glaucoma, the mechanism has not been investigated fully. Therefore, a basic experiment was performed with rabbits.

1) The response of the normal rabbit for various test was observed.

2) The production of the aqueous humor, and the degree of the drainage are investiga-ted by tonography, which was applied for the observation of various tests.

3) The influence of the autonomic nerve blocking agent was studied.

The results are as follows :

1) Rabbit are not sensitive for the invocation test. The response in the dark room was more sensitive than that of the human eyes.
